Good read, thank you Mr. Cusack

Seeing Eye Kitty

It says, “An Eye on You”
Cashew, my 14-year-old yellow lab, is blind and deaf. Her best friend is Libby, 7, her Seeing Eye cat. Libby steers Cashew away from obstacles and leads her to her food. Every night she sleeps next to her. The only time they’re apart is when we take Cashew out for a walk. Without this cat, we know Cashew would be lost and very, very lonely indeed. It’s amazing but true: This is one animal who knows what needs to be done and does it day in and day out for her friend.

Why do I feel like I'm the only one laughing?

I am finding it increasingly more difficult to get a laugh out of anyone anymore... I even use a photo that Steve Martin put on twitter of himself that is just hilarious and not one comment. No "lol" not one word, or expression. I don't get it, I mean, I know my sense of humor tends to lean toward the dark side every now and then but I have posted some funny stuff the last few days and nothing.

I have come to the conclusion that happiness is a choice, and the older a person gets the more you have to choose to be happy... especially these days, with people getting foreclosed on every day, gas prices, the government... not to mention the job situation. I know things are looking very bleak... but that is when Jesus tells us to look up! If we are to have perfect faith in God, we should be choosing happiness, and not give in to satan, because he is the one that wants us to feel defeated, unhappy and alone. Now I'm not saying that if you have faith in God that you will laugh at my attempts at humor... well... no, but please try to remember that God loves you! He will never leave you or forsake you Deut. 31:6, Josh. 1:5.

So, try to make that choice every day… say to yourself, today I am going to be happy because God loves me and he has everything under control. Think of it this way, things are what they are and being sad and miserable isn’t going to change anything… but you.

Love lots!

Reflecting

Sitting here this evening inthralled with my online "things" I noticed how quiet the house was, I happened to look up and see my daughter sitting at her laptop and then behind her at the other desk is my son-in-law on his laptop. I went downstairs and there is my grandson and my niece on his laptop and then when I came back upstairs I peeked in my sons room and he is on his laptop. I started reflecting on how much things have changed through the years.
Sixty years ago there was a t.v. in just about every household and it was in the living room where, every evening the family would gather around after supper and watch Jackie Gleason, I love Lucy, or whatever show they happened to like... I think maybe you had a choice of 3 channels, and then you weren't guaranteed that any of them would come in on the "areal antena" that was either on the roof of the home or on a long pole attached to the house.
I offen think that I would like those times back, it seems like they are so long ago but 60 years is nothing, we have come so far so fast that at times you have to stop and take a break... if you can fit it into your schedule :)
Try to make time for catching up, that is why God made the Sabbath, so we can catch up from the previous week. After all, he designed our bodies, he also gave us his owners manuel, the Bible, so we would know how to treat our bodies so that they will run at their best.

Love to all!
