Harry Morgan, Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen

Harry Morgan, ‘M*A*S*H’ and ‘Dragnet’ Actor, Dies at 96 - NYTimes.com:

He always struck me as being a nice man and it seems as though he was very well liked by all who knew him. I remember him best for his roles in "The Apple Dumpling Gang", "Support Your Local Sheriff!", and my absolute favorite, "M*A*S*H". My heart and prayers go out to his family.- Basil

"Long Way To Go" Alan Jackson's Channel - YouTube

Becky Kelley - Where's the Line to See Jesus - OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO - YouTube

So, the story behind the song is really good. My Uncle sent me this in an email and I just had to share it with everyone. Merry Christmas!

About the Song

While at the mall a couple of years ago, my then four year old nephew, Spencer, saw kids lined up to see Santa Claus. Having been taught as a toddler that Christmas is the holiday that Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus, he asked his mom, "where's the line to see Jesus"?
My sister mentioned this to my dad, who immediately became inspired and jotted words down to a song in just a few minutes. After putting music to the words, and doing a quick recording at home, he received a great response from friends.
He sent the song off to Nashville without much response, except for a Christian songwriter who suggested adding a bridge at the end of the first chorus. My dad then asked if I wanted to record the song to see what we could do with it. I listened to the song, made a few changes to the words to make it flow better, and we headed to ShockCity Studios.
It was at the studio where Chris, owner and producer, rewrote the 2nd verse and part of the chorus... with goose bumps and emotions high, we were all hopeful and felt
like we had something special. The demo was recorded in just under 2 hours and
sent off again to Nashville... still no response.
Then 2 weeks before Christmas last year, my cousins Greg and Robbie decided to do a video to see what we could accomplish on YouTube.
The first day we had 3000 hits and it soared from there. We received e-mails, phone calls, Facebook messages from
people all over asking for the music, CD's, iTunes, anything... we had nothing. After a couple of meetings with Chris following the amazing response, we got serious.
We headed back into the studio this past spring... this time with guitars, drums, bass, pianos, choirs... the real deal.... and here we are today.
Getting iTunes set up, a website put together, and loving that thousands upon thousands of Christians have come together... remembering the true meaning of Christmas.
Out of the mouths of babes come profound truths that many adults can not understand. Hopefully Spencer's observation will cause people all over to reflect on the love of Jesus, and that one day we will all stand in line to see Him.
We are most thankful to our Heavenly Father to have this chance to share our music with you.
Merry Christmas everyone.

The Blocked Writer: The Coke Can Confusion

The Blocked Writer: The Coke Can Confusion: So I have decided that today's wondrous post will be a rant dedicated to all those people who became utterly confused by the holiday Coke c...

Hooked on Phonics Worked for Me!!

So I have decided that today's wondrous post will be a rant dedicated to all those people who became utterly confused by the holiday Coke can. So my husband brings me home some Coke. I prefer cans to bottles so that is what he got me. At first glance I thought it might be diet but upon reading (did you catch that?) READING, I quickly discovered that it was not Diet Coke. My husband says, "These are holiday Coke cans or something." Mystery solved! No big deal right. I mean I had already riddled it out myself from taking the time to read the can, but now all was right with the world because there was a reason for the chaos.

So, loving the holidays like I do, I carried on enjoying my holiday Coke can with the cute polar bears on it. The next thing I know there is a new Coke comercial explaining the switch. I think okay so there are apparently some people who can't read. The next and most interesting part of the comercial says, "hey we're gonna change it back." Wait! What?!! Yes that is correct, so many people complained about the new coke can and the confusion it caused them that Coke is going to get rid of the holiday can!!!

Coke had not only found a pretty can to use for the holidays to pair with its already established holiday polar bears, but was also teaming with the World Wildlife Fund to raise money for actual polar bears and their dwindling habitat. But, alas, polar bears are going to have to take a back seat to illiteracy in America. Lets just hope with the switch back to the comforting red can, Coke will raise money to get these people some hooked on phonics!!!

So I am going to make a serious effort to contribute to your blog. After all I am listed as an author on your blog the least I can do is live up to the title. Not exactly sure what I will contribute but it should be interesting. From what I can tell it will be useless rants about how stupid the general public can be, notice I didn't say IS but CAN BE. Anyways I will wish myself luck and hope that I don't tarnish your prestigious blog.

How to save the economy lol

To help save the economy, the Government will announce next month that the
Immigration Department will start deporting seniors (instead of illegals) in
order to lower Social Security and Medicare costs.

Older people are easier to catch and will not remember how to get back
home.

I started to cry when I thought of you.
Then it dawned on me ... oh, my ... I'll see you on the bus!

Bono on Jesus

From Bono in Conversation with Michka Assayas: “Jesus being God isn’t farfetched to me. Look, the secular response to the Christ story always goes like this: he was a great prophet, obviously a very interesting guy, had a lot to say along the lines of other great prophets, be they Elijah, Muhammad, Buddha, or Confucius. But actually Christ doesn’t allow you that. He doesn’t let you off that hook.

Christ says: ‘No. I’m not saying I’m a teacher, don’t call me teacher. I’m not saying I’m a prophet.’ I’m saying: ‘I’m the Messiah. I’m saying: ‘I am God incarnate.

And people say: ‘No, no, please, just be a prophet. A prophet, we can take. You’re a bit eccentric. We’ve had John the Baptist eating locusts and wild honey, we can handle that. But don’t mention the M word! Because, you know, we’re gonna have to crucify you.’

And he goes: ‘No, no. I know you’re expecting me to come back with an army, and set you free from these creeps, but actually I am the Messiah.’ At this point, everyone starts staring at their shoes, and says: ‘Oh, my God, he’s gonna keep saying this.’

So what you’re left with is: either Christ was who He said He was or a complete nutcase. I mean, we’re talking nutcase on the level of Charles Manson … This man was strapping himself to a bomb, and had King of the Jews on his head, and, as they were putting him up on the Cross, was going: ‘OK, martyrdom, here we go. Bring on the pain! I can take it.’

I’m not joking here. The idea that the entire course of civilization for over half of the globe could have its fate changed and turned upside-down by a nutcase, for me, that’s farfetched. When I look at the Cross of Christ, what I see up there is all my s— and everybody else’s. So I ask myself a question a lot of people have asked: Who is this man? And was He who He said He was, or was He just a religious nut? And there it is, and that’s the question…

But I love the idea of the Sacrificial Lamb. I love the idea that God says: ‘Look, you cretins, there are certain results to the way we are, to selfishness, and there’s a mortality as part of your very sinful nature, and, let’s face it, you’re not living a very good life, are you? There are consequences to actions.’ The point of the death of Christ is that Christ took on the sins of the world, so that what we put out did not come back to us, and that our sinful nature does not reap the obvious death. That’s the point. It should keep us humbled. It’s not our own good works that get us through the gates of heaven.”

Beware of Terrorist Groups in Church

Beware of Terrorist Groups in Church

Reports are that five terrorist cell groups have been operating in many of our churches. They have been identified as: Bin Sleepin, Bin gossipin, Bin Arguin, Bin Fightin, Bin Complainin, and Bin Missin. Their leader, Lucifer Bin Workin, trained these groups to destroy the Body of Christ.

The plan is to come into the church disguised as Christians and to do the work within the church to discourage, disrupt, and destroy. However, there have been reports of a sixth group. A tiny cell known by the name of Bin Prayin is actually the only effective counter terrorism force in the church. Unlike other terrorist cells, the Bin Prayin team does not blend in with whoever and whatever comes along.. Bin Prayin does whatever is needed to uplift and encourage the Body of Christ.

We have noticed that the Bin Prayin cell group has different characteristics than the others. They have Bin Watchin, Bin Waitin, Bin Fastin, and Bin Longin for their Master, Jesus Christ, to return. No church is exempt! However, you can spot them if you bin lookin and bin goin.

They Just Believe (Slideshow with Lyrics)

They Just Believe Song Lyrics | Josh Wilson Beautiful song, trying to find it to post

You say
With a mustard seed of faith
That I can make the mountain move
Sometimes
I am so afraid
Even though I know it's true
Because my faith feels just like doubt
I don't know what to pray right now

Oh I believe
Please help my unbelief
Jesus give me grace
To trust what I can't see
Your ways are not my own
Some things I'll never know
But you say blessed are the ones who never see
They just believe

So now
With a heart full of questions
I come to you just as I am
All my weakness
All my fears
All I've run from all these years
In the middle of my doubt
Some that still I'm finding out

I believe
Please help my unbelief
Jesus give me grace
To trust what I can't see
Your ways are not my own
Some things I'll never know
But you say blessed are the ones who never see
They just believe

When my faith feels just like doubt
I believe
Oh I believe

Oh I believe
Please help my unbelief
Jesus give me grace
To trust what I can't see
Your ways are not my own
Some things I'll never know
But you say blessed are the ones who never see
They just believe
But you say blessed are the ones who never see
They just believe

"You Were There" by Avalon

I wonder how it must have felt
When David stood to face Goliath on a hill
I imagine that he shook with all his might
Until You took his hand, and held on tight

'Cause You were there, You were there
In the midst of danger's snare
You were there, You were there always
You were there when the hardest fight
Seemed so out of reach
Oh, You were there, You were always there
You were always there

So there he stood upon that hill
Abraham with knife in hand was poised to kill
But God in all his sovereignty had bigger plans
And just in time, You brought a lamb

'Cause You were there,
You were there
In the midst of the unclear
You were there, you were there always
You were there when obedience
Seemed to not make sense
You were there, You were always there
You were always there

So haven't I learned that my ways
Aren't as high as Yours are
And You alone keep the universe
From crumbling into dust
You are God and though we would
Not have understood You
There You were

Hanging blameless on a cross
You would rather die than leave us in the dark
Every moment, every planned coincidence
Just all makes sense
With Your last breath

You were there, You were there
During history's darkest hour
You were there, You were there always
You were the Victor and the King
You were the power in David's swing
You were the calm in Abraham
You are the God who understands
You are the strength when we have none
You are the living, Holy one
You were, You are and You will always be
the Risen Lamb of God

You were, You are and You will always be
The Risen Lamb of God

Seeing Eye Kitty

It says, “An Eye on You”
Cashew, my 14-year-old yellow lab, is blind and deaf. Her best friend is Libby, 7, her Seeing Eye cat. Libby steers Cashew away from obstacles and leads her to her food. Every night she sleeps next to her. The only time they’re apart is when we take Cashew out for a walk. Without this cat, we know Cashew would be lost and very, very lonely indeed. It’s amazing but true: This is one animal who knows what needs to be done and does it day in and day out for her friend.

Why do I feel like I'm the only one laughing?

I am finding it increasingly more difficult to get a laugh out of anyone anymore... I even use a photo that Steve Martin put on twitter of himself that is just hilarious and not one comment. No "lol" not one word, or expression. I don't get it, I mean, I know my sense of humor tends to lean toward the dark side every now and then but I have posted some funny stuff the last few days and nothing.

I have come to the conclusion that happiness is a choice, and the older a person gets the more you have to choose to be happy... especially these days, with people getting foreclosed on every day, gas prices, the government... not to mention the job situation. I know things are looking very bleak... but that is when Jesus tells us to look up! If we are to have perfect faith in God, we should be choosing happiness, and not give in to satan, because he is the one that wants us to feel defeated, unhappy and alone. Now I'm not saying that if you have faith in God that you will laugh at my attempts at humor... well... no, but please try to remember that God loves you! He will never leave you or forsake you Deut. 31:6, Josh. 1:5.

So, try to make that choice every day… say to yourself, today I am going to be happy because God loves me and he has everything under control. Think of it this way, things are what they are and being sad and miserable isn’t going to change anything… but you.

So, try to make that choice every day… say to yourself, today I am going to be happy because God loves me and he has everything under control. Think of it this way, things are what they are and being sad and miserable isn’t going to change anything… but you.

Love lots!
