Reflecting

Sitting here this evening inthralled with my online "things" I noticed how quiet the house was, I happened to look up and see my daughter sitting at her laptop and then behind her at the other desk is my son-in-law on his laptop. I went downstairs and there is my grandson and my niece on his laptop and then when I came back upstairs I peeked in my sons room and he is on his laptop. I started reflecting on how much things have changed through the years.
Sixty years ago there was a t.v. in just about every household and it was in the living room where, every evening the family would gather around after supper and watch Jackie Gleason, I love Lucy, or whatever show they happened to like... I think maybe you had a choice of 3 channels, and then you weren't guaranteed that any of them would come in on the "areal antena" that was either on the roof of the home or on a long pole attached to the house.
I offen think that I would like those times back, it seems like they are so long ago but 60 years is nothing, we have come so far so fast that at times you have to stop and take a break... if you can fit it into your schedule :)
Try to make time for catching up, that is why God made the Sabbath, so we can catch up from the previous week. After all, he designed our bodies, he also gave us his owners manuel, the Bible, so we would know how to treat our bodies so that they will run at their best.

Love to all!

  1. I am so with you on this...It brings back memories of a time when youth still knew about respect...It wasnt some new and wacky idea!!..They listened to thier parents AND grandparents, with respect...THAT is a sad loss from the new era...Parents these days, have very often not had the help THEY needed to be able to allow them to even be ABLE TO assist thier children to this very precious bit of Truth...It's even one of the Big Ten!!!....Honor thy mother and father...Church is so important..Lots of opportunties for practice...(in a LOT of areas!!...wink wink!!).I sure am glad we know in Whom we have trusted!!!...Love you!!
